As research for your Master Thesis is likely in full bloom, the Library would like to support your work by highlighting a selection of academic journals that may be useful depending on your chosen topic. All recommendations are based on the Library’s subscriptions, so full-text access is available to our users.

In this series, we will present selected journals from different subject areas relevant to students of European and international studies. Please note that the titles listed here are only a small subjective selection and do not cover all journals on these topics.


We begin this series with the general European studies category. Below is a short list of journals that may be particularly useful if your Master Thesis focuses on European integration, EU institutions, EU policy, or political developments within the European Union.


Journal specialises in the role of Europe in the world, and in particular its position and policies in relation to third States and international institutions (Wolters Kluwer).

Covers comparative politics, political economy, international relations, public administration, political theory, and European studies (Springer).

The journal refers to all aspects of European Politics, comparative politics, political sociology, social policy, international relations, security, and modern history (Taylor & Francis). 

Focuses on public policy within the European Union and the interaction between EU institutions, member states, and policy actors. Particularly useful for students working on EU policymaking and governance (Sage).

One of the leading journals on European integration. It publishes research on EU politics, economics, and governance, including enlargement, institutional change, and EU policymaking (Wiley).

The title provides a research on the European integration process in all its aspects: political, military, economic, technological, social, and cultural (Nomos/Inlibra).

Focuses on public policy within the European Union and the interaction between EU institutions, member states, and policy actors. Particularly useful for students working on EU policymaking and governance (Taylor & Francis).

Each month, it offers insights into current European affairs, European law, as well as European policies and economic issues (Dalloz).
